Top tips to improve your marketing strategy on LinkedIn
Post original and engaging content
Usually, once someone has looked over your profile and thinks you may be someone they want to connect with they will make their way down to your recent updates and posts on your profile. Linkedin will allow you to create content in the form of Updates, Images, Posts or Newsletters.
Before you start posting anything on LinkedIn you should be creating a content strategy and monthly schedules for posting your content. We have previously spoken about a content strategy here so check it out for more tips. Make sure you are using a mix of organic content and curated content that is relevant to your audience.
Make sure your content is professional and matches your brand and message across the board, the amount of content you publish and when to share is also important, creating a consistent schedule of content that you are planning in advance is the key when posting your content. For example, if you plan to post 3 times per week make sure you are consistent in making and scheduling those posts, our team would suggest posting or sharing something daily. Look to leverage and repurpose older content, you could share content from someone you follow or you can create your own content, make sure you’re keeping it consistent with a good mix of all of the above types of content for best results.
Don’t be a robot, use your authentic voice!
LinkedIn is known as a professional platform but make sure you are being your authentic self and portraying yourself to your audience. No one wants to follow a robot on the platform so being yourself is going to attract the attention of the type of people you want to work with. Don’t be afraid of showing a sense of humour and being informal in your posts at times.
Content works best on the platform when it’s personable and relatable, this is the key to building a following.
Leverage your employees to promote the business
Ultimately you want your business and brand to reach as many people as possible, having your employees promote your business is only going to further drive engagement and reach for your brand. Having an employee become a trusted source and somewhat of an expert in your field is also another way to build your brand and drive further engagement.
Use LinkedIn Analytics to track your best-performing posts
Using this feature is a must if you are posting content and using a content strategy on the platform. Here are some of the things it will allow you to do:
- Which types of posts earn the most engagement
- Whether there’s a time or frequency that impacts performance
- How your employees and personals impact your company’s reach
